Meet Tanya

Hi, I’m Tanya Mac — artist, facilitator, and mental health advocate.

TMAC Arts grew from a simple belief: creativity can help people process life, understand their emotions, and reconnect with themselves and others.

Art has always been a place where I could make sense of what I was feeling. Over time, I realized that creative expression does something powerful for many people. When words fall short, art opens the door. It creates space for honesty, reflection, and sometimes even healing.

That idea became the foundation for TMAC Arts.

Through creative workshops and mental health awareness trainings, I work with individuals, organizations, and communities to explore how creativity can support emotional well-being, connection, and resilience.

In addition to my work as an artist, I have spent more than a decade facilitating evidence-based trainings focused on mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and stress management. These programs are designed to help people recognize when someone may be struggling, understand how to respond, and build practical skills that support healthier individuals and communities.

My approach blends art, conversation, and practical mental health education. The goal is not to create perfect paintings. The goal is to create environments where people feel comfortable expressing themselves and gaining new insight into their experiences.

Over the years, this work has brought me alongside people carrying a great deal of invisible weight — including first responders, veterans, community members, and individuals navigating trauma, stress, and major life transitions.

Art cannot solve everything, but it can open conversations that might never happen otherwise. And often that is where growth begins.

TMAC Arts exists to create spaces where people can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves through creativity.

When I’m not leading workshops or painting, I’m usually developing new creative experiences that combine art and mental health education, or spending time with the people who keep me grounded.

If you’re here, thank you for being part of the journey.
